I’ve added freely downloadable friendship posters to my Sail the Seven C’s Teacher Expo .

** Here is a short tour of the Expo and its current collection of resources. [More are being added every week.]

A couple of ways to use these files…

  • Project onto the whiteboard, but block out key words or a phrase, such as, in the example below, ‘self-doubt’. Let your students fill in the blank.

  • Pose the question, “Which one of these reminds you of one of your friends?”

  • Use one as a theme/’behavior guide’ for an upcoming week.

A couple of ways teachers might use the quotes…

  • Print out and project onto the whiteboard, but block out key words or a phrase, such as, in the example below, ‘follow him’. Let your students fill in the blank.

  • Pose the question, “Have you ever reached a point where the character did something you didn’t expect?”

  • Ask your students which of the three quotes makes the most sense to them.

Message to visitors to my project

Greetings, Expo visitors!

I’m going to start this Invaders From Space section by providing photos that I hope will spur your imagination and lead to fun, interesting stories.

The stories can be based on a single photo or any combination of photos I provide.

If/when I have time, I will give this exercise a whirl on my own.

Have fun and share your creativity and talent!

Teachers:

  1. Create a theme-based gallery of these quotes to post around the classroom.

  2. Discussion or journal prompt: “This quote makes me think of the time when…”

  3. Share the file with your students so they can create their own ‘quote galleries’.

  4. Challenge students to find their own quotes about hard work and diligence.

  5. To download the image, right-click on it, and choose ‘save’ from the pop-up menu.
